Cleaner – Evening & Weekend
Nustadia Recreation Inc. (NRI), operators of the Greenfoot Energy Centre and RBC Centre, is seeking reliable and detail-oriented Cleaners to join our facility operations teams. Evening and weekend positions are available at both locations, with full-time and part-time opportunities.
Position Overview
Cleaners are responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for facility users, guests, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will take pride in their work, pay close attention to detail, and consistently maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the facility.
This role involves a variety of cleaning and custodial duties, including cleaning public areas, washrooms, changerooms, offices, and other facility spaces.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
· Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors using brooms, mops, vacuums, and commercial floor-cleaning equipment.
· Clean and disinfect washrooms, change rooms, kitchens, public areas, and high-touch surfaces.
· Clean and maintain floors, carpets, rugs, furniture, fixtures, and other facility surfaces.
· Empty waste and recycling containers and replace liners as required.
· Restock washroom, paper, and cleaning supplies.
· Perform routine inspections of assigned areas and address cleanliness issues as required.
· Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and other surfaces as assigned.
· Operate cleaning equipment safely and appropriately.
· Identify and report maintenance, repair, safety, or facility issues to the appropriate supervisor.
· Follow established cleaning schedules, procedures, and quality standards.
· Handle cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with manufacturer instructions and NRI safety procedures.
· Maintain a safe work environment by following all applicable health, safety, and workplace procedures.
· Provide courteous and professional service when interacting with facility users, guests, staff, and members of the public.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
· Previous cleaning, custodial, or janitorial experience is considered an asset.
· High School Diploma or equivalent is considered an asset.
· Knowledge of general cleaning methods, products, and equipment.
· Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals and operate commercial cleaning equipment.
· Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
· Good organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to complete assigned duties within established timelines.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Reliable, dependable, and punctual.
· Ability to perform physical duties, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting for extended periods.
· Ability to work in a busy public recreation environment.
· Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Compensation
· $17.50–$19.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Arena Operator

Nustadia Recreation Inc., operator of the Greenfoot Energy Centre (Bedford) and the RBC Centre (Dartmouth), are currently hiring full-time hourly and part-time hourly Arena Operators. If you enjoy hands-on work, take pride in maintaining high-quality facilities, and thrive in a team environment, we’d love to hear from you.
Whether you have previous arena experience or are looking to learn a new trade, we provide training for motivated individuals with a strong work ethic.
Main Duties
· Maintain ice surfaces, including operating an ice resurfacer (Zamboni) and edger
· Perform ice depth checks and equipment inspections
· Assist with general facility maintenance and upkeep
· Clean dressing rooms and common areas
· Restock washrooms and facility supplies
· Empty garbage and recycling
· Remove snow from entrances and exits
· Help to ensure the facility remains clean, safe, and welcoming for all users
What we’re looking for
· Previous arena experience is considered as asset; but training will be provided
· Mechanical aptitude and experience working with equipment, machinery, or tools
· Strong communication and customer service skills
· Dependable, reliable, and punctual
· Positive attitude with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn
· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
· Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision, while also contributing as part of a team
· Availability to work a variety of shifts, including days, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and most holidays
· Valid driver’s license with a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience
Compensation:
Hourly wage: $17.50 - $25.00 per hour. Hiring wage is based on experience, qualifications, and relevant skills.

Guest Services - GEC Centre and RBC Centres
Nustadia Recreation Inc, managers of the GEC and RBC Centres are looking to hire the right individuals for Guest Services positions.
Guest Services are the initial point of contact for the public and user groups when they arrive or call the GEC and RBC Centres. They must be pleasant, well organized, an excellent communicator and enjoy dealing with the public. We are looking for individuals that are reliable, flexible, motivated and able to handle many different situations as they arise. Guest Services positions are part-time and work mainly evenings and weekends.
Previous experience working with the public would be an asset, you will need to provide references from previous employers and provide a clear Criminal Record Check. (Applicants must be a minimum of 16 years of age to apply). Starting wage is $17.25 per hour.
